Extra is one of the finest themes for creating a portfolio and blogging sites. This theme is totally different from all other themes as it contains many special features. One of the best features of the extra theme is the Trending Bar. Trending Bar shows notification of all the posts. Sometimes there is a need when we have to show notification of all the posts for a particular category in the trending bar. This can be achieved by using CSS.
Follow the instruction for displaying post notification for individual category in trending bar:
- Go to Appearance>>Editor>>functions.php
In the functions.php file, we can place the code given below.

In the above code don’t forget to replace the category_name and posts_per_page accordingly as shown in the below image.

This is the change the category that displays correct? Like maybe a recent category?
Where exactly do you add the code? I put it at the top but it messed up the header of the website. Does it need to go in middle or bottom of the code that exists in the functions file?
